Seven year old extracts own tooth using toy car
Seven year old Easton Jarrett has extracted his own tooth with the help of his dad using a remote control car and dental floss! Easton had no qualms in pressing the button that sent his tooth flying out into the air, bravely withstanding the possible pain and rushing over to the baby tooth after the ordeal.
Early intervention
Children will start developing their deciduous (baby) teeth around the ages of 2-3 years. A child will usually undergo orthodontic treatment from 9-10 years of age. It is imperative that they see us at New Wave Orthodontics if your child develops any of the following tell-tale signs that intervention may be required:
- Premature or late baby tooth loss
- Difficulty in chewing
- Crowded or misaligned teeth
- A sunken or protruding jaw
- Finger sucking
- Jaw dysfunction
Our treatments
At New Wave Orthodontics on the Sunshine Coast we understand that children go through many changes, and that braces may not be on their preferred list. This is why, other than just offering traditional braces, we offer clear braces, ceramic braces, lingual braces or even Invisalign!
Kids can choose many different colour combinations for their braces so the process is fun and more appealing to them.
At New Wave Orthodontics, we want your child’s smile to be set for life. We care about the confidence and self-esteem your child has, and want to boost that where we can.
