Clear Braces
As the name suggests, Clear Braces are practically transparent. Also treatment time can take between a couple of months and a couple of years depending on the state of your oral health.
A mixture of brackets and wires, Clear Braces are fixed to the front of your teeth and are less obvious than traditional braces. Clear Braces work by putting gentle pressure on your teeth—this gradually moves them into the correct position.
Lingual Braces
Lingual—or invisible—braces are fitted to the back of your teeth. No one will know you’re getting treatment done.
Lingual braces are a great choice if you simply want the easiest and least noticeable treatment for adjusting your smile. Lingual braces consist of brackets and wires that use the most modern technology to straighten your teeth from behind.
Invisalign
Invisalign is a series of aligners that are a transparent, undetectable and hygienic alternative to other forms of orthodontic treatment. Custom moulded and removable the aligners gradually shift your teeth to the desired positions.
Being removable, Invisalign allows you to eat all your favourite foods without worrying about braces. They also allow you to brush and floss your teeth as you normally would.
Metal Braces
Metal brackets are the tried and true way of straightening your teeth. They may be less glamorous than Invisalign but they will straighten your teeth.
Traditional braces work by placing gentle pressure on your teeth, gradually moving them into correct position. At our clinic on the Sunshine Coast, our metal braces are available in the traditional metal and ceramic. We find that the ceramic braces are more popular because they are more subtle than traditional metal.
Typically, braces are used to correct:
- Malocclusions (misalign bite)
- Under bites
- Over bites
- Cross bites
- Crooked teeth
The Length of an Appointment…
The time an appointment will take depends on the particular treatment. Although generally speaking we allow 45 minutes for your initial consultation and examination: 40 minutes for the placement of braces, and then about 5-20 minutes for your adjustment appointments.
