Invisalign treatment uses clear, plastic aligners that are removable to align your teeth progressively with new aligners until they are positioned in their desirable location. What attracts a lot of people to this treatment is its ability to move your teeth without anyone knowing. With the use of smooth plastic aligners this means patients can wear their Invisalign treatment without causing any disturbance of the lips often experienced from metal braces.
The clear aligners are virtually invisible and can be removed if necessary. We encourage patients to keep their aligners in as much as possible, however while cleaning your teeth you do have the luxury of removing your aligners so that your regular hygiene routine isn’t affected. The ability to remove your aligners also means you can eat without having to worry about getting food caught in any wires or brackets.
Invisalign for everyone…
We offer the Invisalign treatment for both adults and teens (through Invisalign TEEN) with the treatment varying just slightly. The Invisalign TEEN treatment is effectively the same as adult Invisalign except the teen treatment includes compliance indicators, so parents can stay on top of their child’s progress and ensure they are wearing their aligners as often as they should.
It is important to know that Invisalign treatment requires a great deal of commitment and obligation. It’s easy to simply leave your aligners on your bedside table and to make excuses not to wear them; if this is the case then Invisalign will not work for you. To ensure you receive ideal results quickly you must wear your aligners 22 hours per day.
