After graduating from the University of Queensland with first class honours Kate spent seven years working in general dentistry before specialising in orthodontics. Kate has lectured at the University of Queensland, she has completed her Masters in oral pain, has had her research published in peer revied journals, has held elected roles in the Australian Society of Orthodontics and been involved in the organisation of both local and international conferences.
Her interest in orthodontics developed during a transformative three-year term as an oral and maxillofacial senior house officer in England. Working with emergency facial injuries and treating conditions like oral cancer motivated Kate to pursue a career in orthodontics speciality empowering her to make a bigger difference to people’s lives.
Since completing her orthodontic post graduate training at the University of Queensland in 2010, Kate has been a practicing orthodontist in Brisbane.
Kate loves getting to know her patients and their families and is passionate about creating beautiful smiles.
Outside of work, Kate loves spending time with her son Charlie, and has a passion for sport including windsurfing, paddle boarding, surfing and touch football.
